Dr. Weird was the only character in the core Big Bang universe that wasn’t created to be an avatar for any existing comic book character. In fact, Dr. Weird predated the BB universe by more than 30 years, and had a real history of his own. (more…)

      When we last saw Ultraman in MEGATON #1, it was 1983. He had been supercharged when the radioactive meteor that gave him his powers exploded, and he was wandering in a mindless rage. His teen-age daughter Christie had gained super powers in the same blast, and had adopted the name ULTRAGIRL, and was about to confront the monster when she realized it was actually her father.      Welcome to part 1 of a new series in which I’ll give you a run through of every issue of Big Bang Comics, and hopefully a bit of insight into the creations and creators.

     I’ve mentioned before that Big Bang was born in Megaton #1. The original concept was that of a new generation of super heroes – Megaton, Ultragirl, Vanguard and others. Representing the old generation were Ultraman and the Crusader who were present to pass the torch in that first issue. (more…)
